New Year's Message
Jun Tanaka, President, Executive Officer and CEO
WingArc1st Inc.
Happy New Year. We sincerely thank you for your exceptional support throughout the past year.
Looking back on 2025, I feel that the evolution of generative AI progressed at a speed far beyond our expectations, and that last year marked a turning point for the world.
AI has grown beyond the limits of simply helping people; it's becoming something that makes us re-examine the very roles of people themselves.
The capabilities of generative AI have suddenly become visible in many specialized fields, including programming, design, music, and creative fields. At the same time, skills, working styles, and even the way we think about hiring new graduates, all of which were largely taken for granted up to this point, are undergoing a dramatic shake-up. University education is also changing, focusing less on what students have learned in school and more on how one thinks and how ideas can be put into practice in our society.
Against such a backdrop, I strongly feel that AI-native working styles are beginning to take root as a reality, and not just in the IT industry.
It is no exaggeration to say that this is a seismic shift in the way we work.
Our company has also faced these changes head-on, and we have evolved our business in response. Aware of the growing risk of document forgery and tampering done using generative AI, we have launched a new digital trust service, Trustee, to address the societal issue of "vulnerable PDFs," (*1) and the response we have received has been tremendous. We have also launched MotionBoard, a data utilization platform that is enabling our customers to perform reliable analysis and visualization simply by asking the AI questions in natural language -- eliminating the need for specialized skills traditionally required for data analysis. (*2) Within WingArc, we are also rapidly reviewing our development methods and operations based on generative AI. Generative AI is no longer a technology that one can choose whether or not to use -- it has evolved into a technology whose use in assumed, and it is redesigning operations and businesses. Last year was a year in which those boundaries were pushed back in one fell swoop.

2026 will mark the 30th anniversary of the launch of SVF, WingArc's original report infrastructure solution. This will also be a year in which we take on our next challenges while building on the foundation of fundamental technologies and trust we have cultivated thus far.
Going forward, I believe it will be essential to consider how best to use generative AI in areas such as the public sector and finance, where mistakes are not tolerated, interpretation is difficult, and answers don't easily fit a mold. Because generative AI does not return 100% correct answers, we must not forget that it is humans who ultimately make the decisions.
We aim to redefine business models and the very nature of software, while carefully determining what AI is capable of and what role humans should fulfill -- continuing to take on even the most challenging domains. What is required in this is the uniquely human ability to invent, adapt, and create value.
Together with our customers and partners, we will strive to understand generative AI correctly, put what we learn into practice, and turn it into a source of competitive advantage. To achieve this, we will continue providing the platforms and expertise that make these goals possible.
We look forward to your continued support in the year ahead.
