Digital trust service "Trustee" now available. Prevents vulnerable PDFs from being forged or tampered with by generative AI, and develops a timestamp capable of processing up to 1,000 documents per second

WingArc1st Inc.

WingArc1st Inc. will launch a digital trust service (*2), Trustee, on 26 August 2025 to ensure the reliability of electronic documents in business-to-business transactions against the backdrop of the rapid evolution of generative AI.

Specifically, we have developed Japan's fastest (*1) and lowest cost Trustee time stamp with 1,000 documents per second in the forms and document management product line, and obtained certification from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications on 8 August 2025 (*3). The price is less than 5 yen per stamp (excluding tax) (*4), and we aim to introduce the product to 1,000 companies in three years.

■Background
The evolution of generative AI technology has made it easier to forge and falsify electronic documents (such as invoices, contracts, national tax-related documents, etc.) between companies and government agencies. 23.6% of respondents to a survey conducted by our company are concerned about the possibility of not being aware of AI falsification of important documents. (*5)

With the revision of the Electronic Books Preservation Act, it has become common practice to assign time stamps at the receiving end of documents. This operation creates a security hole by circulating unprotected PDFs that are at risk of tampering or impersonation between the issuance and receipt of the document. A timestamp assigned by the issuer of an electronic document can provide proof of the existence of the document from the time of issuance and ensure that the document is not tampered with afterwards.

In Europe, the use of AI-generated forged documents by criminal organizations and antisocial forces is becoming increasingly serious, leading to stronger national laws and regulations, and a growing sense of crisis. In Japan, this is one of the future security threats to business, and the trust service market is expected to grow to 55.6 billion yen (*6) by around 2030.

Considering the social risk background of AI technologies, WingArc has decided to develop a new digital trust service to ensure the safety of digital data in its ledger sheet and document management product line, which has held the top market share(*7) for about 30 years. The new service is designed to further reduce the risk of tampering by providing high-speed, low-cost time stamps at the origin of the document.

■Features of Trustee Time Stamping
- Real-time high-speed processing of over 1,000 documents per second
Proprietary PDF analysis technology and an extremely simple design enable high-speed processing of more than 1,000 documents per second. In addition, we have built a mechanism that makes it impossible to issue unauthorized timestamps even if the server is illegally hacked. (Patent pending).

- Multiple locations and redundant configurations support a system that never stops
High availability ensures that no time is lost during periodic maintenance, leap seconds, and processing errors.

- Low cost of less than 5 yen per stamp (excluding tax)
The price is less than 5 yen per stamp (excluding tax), and volume discounts are available.
