The Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank promotes data-driven sales operations with MotionBoard

In less than 10 months, Ogaki produced 17 types of dashboards in-house, and cross-search of sales opportunity information went from 1 week to the same-day

WingArc1st Inc.

WingArc1st Inc. announces that The Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank has introduced MotionBoard, a data application platform where BI and AI coexist, and has produced and released 17 types of dashboard screens in-house within less than 10 months of starting full-scale operation.

To enable the data-driven management set forth in its medium-term management plan starting in April 2024, The Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank has consolidated data that was dispersed within the company into a data utilization platform (data warehouse) and introduced MotionBoard to build dashboards that sales staff can use intuitively, one after another, such as for branch performance management and new business development support utilizing corporate information from Teikoku Databank. The monthly number of accesses by bank employees is approximately 6,000, and access to the data utilization platform has also reached over 100,000 per month, expanding the scope of utilization from sales sites to the headquarters.

■ Background
The Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank set forth a digital transformation strategy in its medium-term management plan starting in April 2024. It has been working to enable data-driven management that reforms the decision-making process through the utilization of data. As part of this, data that was dispersed in various parts of the company, such as core banking systems and sales support systems, was consolidated into a data warehouse. However, extracting and analyzing necessary data from the infrastructure required specialized skills such as SQL, posing a challenge for sales staff. Furthermore, there was no know-how for designing and creating dashboards that would allow sales staff to intuitively utilize the accumulated data, making it necessary to establish a model for utilization through trial and error.

Initially, the bank considered a BI tool that could be integrated with its sales support system, but after conducting a MotionBoard trial with realistic synthetic data, the high degree of freedom in dashboard design and rich expressive power became the deciding factors. Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank adopted MotionBoard, valuing its ability to visualize all internal data in one place as an independent BI tool.

■ Introduction Effects

After the decision to introduce it, infrastructure development began and the first group of dashboards were released internally after about 3 weeks. In less than 10 months since the start of full-scale operation, 17 types of dashboard screen have been produced and released in-house, significantly reducing the time required for data aggregation and prospect selection.

1. Branch Performance Management
Previously, only performance figures summarized by area by the headquarters were shown, and the branches had to process and analyze goal achievement levels using spreadsheet software. Now, performance figures such as results, goals, and achievement rates for each of the 35 sales areas can be displayed in graphs at a glance, allowing both headquarters and each branch to understand performance and progress by area based on the same data.

2. COSMOS II Map for New Business Development Support
Teikoku Databank corporate information is plotted on a map and distinguishes between existing clients and new prospects. The time elapsed since the last contact with business partners is also available, allowing employees to immediately determine whether to re-contact them.

3. Cross-search of business negotiation and project information
By consolidating contact history accumulated in the sales support system into a data utilization platform and enabling keyword searches on MotionBoard, extraction work that previously took nearly a week due to requests to the IT department can now be completed with just a keyword search.

4. Dashboard creation utilizing generative AI
Generative AI is now available for dashboard creation. A draft can be created just by inputting an image of the required screen, with work underway to improve both speed and productivity of dashboard work.

Data utilization at Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank continues to advance, with bank employees making approximately 6,000 accesses per month, and access to the data utilization platform via MotionBoard reaching over 100,000 times per month. The bank is considering expanding the data utilization platform for use by everyone from sales sites to headquarters in the future.
