IBM Japan and WingArc1st integrated MotionBoard into the IBM Digital Services Platform for Financial Services

IBM Japan, Ltd.
WingArc1st Inc.

IBM Japan Ltd. and WingArc1st Inc. announced today that they have integrated the IBM Digital Services Platform for Financial Services (DSP, *1) with WingArc1st's BI dashboard, MotionBoard. The new service, "DSP Data Utilization BI Function" (*2) provides increased efficiency of data visualization, unification, extraction, and reporting operations.

The DSP is a platform for promoting digital transformation of financial services and has been adopted by over 30 financial institutions, providing industry-wide services in an open and stable manner on a cloud platform. The DSP enables integration and utilization of digitized data obtained from operations and channels with data from existing core banking systems. The DSP features a validated analytical model for banking and a data utilization platform, an optional functionality that incorporates the data processing processes necessary to run that model. This allows financial institutions to generate prospective customer lists in CSV format without the involvement of data scientists. Regional banks using the data utilization platform saw a 150% improvement in targeting accuracy for major retail products compared to before.

The newly launched "DSP Data Utilization BI Function" improves the DSP's user interface through integration with MotionBoard, enabling intuitive operation and analysis based on advanced analytical logic. For example, in sales activities and deepening customer understanding at financial institutions, target customers and their prospect status can be viewed in the highly visible UI, making the PDCA cycle smoother. In addition, activity results can be input into MotionBoard and fed back to the DSP to improve the accuracy of analysis results. Furthermore, "DSP Data Utilization BI Function" enables the management and visualization of data by showing unified indicators on a single company-wide platform, thereby improving management and operational efficiency.

IBM Japan is promoting collaboration to expand the added value of the DSP, making it a core solution of the Open Sourcing Strategic Framework (*3). The collaboration with WingArc1st is just one example of how it promotes digital transformation of the financial industry to solve management issues. IBM Japan will continue to expand its services for financial institutions that wish to utilize core banking system data for management and service improvement, drive modernization of financial institutions, and accelerate service development.

WingArc1st provides MotionBoard to support data utilization across many industries, and it has been adopted by more than 3,500 companies (as of the end of February 2024). The adoption rate among regional banks has reached more than 40%. WingArc1st will continue to promote support for data utilization at financial institutions to help them improve their operational efficiency and data analysis.
