WingArc1st Inc. is pleased to announce that Asahi Tekko Co., Ltd., an automotive parts manufacturer, has introduced dejiren as communication platform into the Asahi DX Engine, which utilizes the data analysis platform, Dr.Sum and the BI dashboard, MotionBoard , to build a field-led data utilization platform that utilizes generative AI for flexible and rapid decision-making.
Background
In 2020, Asahi Tekko built a data utilization platform called the Asahi DX Engine, which integrates Dr.Sum, MotionBoard and i-Reporter (Cimtops). It has created an environment where data generated from various sites, including production management, sales, manufacturing, accounting, procurement, and the environment, can be centralized and viewed in real time. In 2021, it established the DX Promotion Office to spread the digitalization efforts throughout the company, promoting the creation of an organization in which each department promotes improvement activities on its own initiative, and the paperless system has resulted in an annual cost reduction of approximately 8 million yen. However, the automotive industry is undergoing a once-in-a-century transformation (*), and in order to further improve operational efficiency and productivity by promoting DX, Asahi Tekko was considering the creation of a new mechanism to facilitate human judgment and action and support decision-making through the advanced use of collected and accumulated data. Therefore, dejiren was introduced to create a mechanism to promote the best decisions and actions at the manufacturing site by eliminating the variation caused by individual experience and intuition through the use of data incorporating generative AI.

Benefits of implementation

(1) DX Promotion Office: Summary of business chat
Combining dejiren's virtual assistant function with a generative AI, the messages exchanged are retrieved, analyzed and summarized by the generative AI, and action plans are automatically delivered to management based on trend analysis. The tedious task of referencing and summarizing necessary information from multiple chat channels has been streamlined.
(2) Manufacturing Department: Having past trouble-shooting information in Copilot (operated to improve cycle time and uptime, and to handle quality-related troubles)
A system has been established to accumulate information on past troubleshooting know-how and case studies in each manufacturing department, and to enable employees to inquire via dejiren's chat function and obtain necessary information. The system is being used to standardize responses, which varied among employees, and to raise the level of skills.

(3) Management: Support for understanding monthly accounting data

(4) Manufacturing department: Manufacturing dashboard analysis
MotionBoard's dashboard information is analyzed by a generative AI and the results are automatically notified to line managers in the field. By efficiently notifying information to line managers who need to grasp the situation on various dashboards, a system is created that facilitates decision-making and action.
Asahi Tekko is not only building a system that allows employees to quickly make decisions based on data and take action, but is also working on transformation from the perspective of employee development and promoting digital transformation. These efforts have increased employees' awareness of the need to use data to improve their own work, and have contributed to the creation of a system that leads to prompt data-driven decision-making and action.
