Launch of the Rural Revitalization Lab
Creation of "The Kitakyushu Model" to promote regional DX/GX through more than 20 projects co-created by industry, government and academia

WingArc1st Inc. will open the Rural Revitalization Lab in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, on 16 August with the aim of creating "The Kitakyushu Model", which promotes regional DX/GX through collaboration between industry, government and academia.
In July 2023, WingArc1st and Kitakyushu city signed an agreement to deliver a model originating in Kitakyushu city to solve regional issues. (*1)
Both parties are working together through the use of data and digital technology, including the provision of EcoNiPass, a CO2 emissions visualization platform from the Kitakyushu GX Promotion Consortium.
In addition to the opening of the Rural Revitalization Lab, Kitakyushu city and WingArc1st have formulated a policy for initiatives toward 2030 that will accelerate the Kitakyushu Model. Industry, government and academia can cooperate to create an environment in which young people can take on challenges and to create a system for noticing changes in young people and the community through the use of data. Specifically, we will collaborate with Kitakyushu city's newly established Generation Z division, the professional soccer club, Giravanz Kitakyushu, and the University of Kitakyushu City to conduct verification under the theme of youth x data x sports. In addition, we are planning to develop more than 20 projects, including the creation of 100 jobs, with the aim of establishing the Kitakyushu Model.
