■ Background
Amid growing attention on the need to disclose information on CO2 emissions related to climate change and the challenge of reducing costs due to rising energy prices, Towa Bank is working to support and systematize the generation, supply, and conversion of renewable energy in the region. The Bank has also launched the TOWA Decarbonization Consortium, which aims to create a decarbonized society by strengthening local industrial power through a circular economy that utilizes locally produced and consumed green energy in collaboration with local small and medium-sized enterprises, local governments, local universities, and financial institutions. As a service supporting the TOWA Decarbonization Consortium, TOWA has introduced EcoNiPass, which compiles and visualizes CO2 emissions in the supply chain.

Its main features are as follows:
・CO2 emissions can be managed centrally for both Towa Bank and all consortium members
・Offers a low-cost EcoNiPass pricing plan
・Provided by WingArc1st, a trusted organization with know-how in data utilization

EcoNiPass began operation in April 2024 , and the CO2 emissions visualization tool is currently provided to the consortium's more than 250 member companies for free. By using EcoNiPass, the bank can view not only its own CO2 emissions, but also the CO2 emissions of consortium member locations, allowing it to support customers in reducing their CO2 emissions. The consortium also holds study sessions on decarbonization for its members and conducts demonstrations of EcoNiPass to support its members' efforts toward decarbonization. It also serves as a forum for local companies to collaborate and revitalize their businesses.

■About EcoNiPass
A CO2 emissions visualization platform that provides total support, from compiling and visualizing CO2 emissions in the supply chain to assisting in the creation of reduction plans and implementing reduction measures. The cloud service automatically compiles the CO2 emissions of companies and suppliers that are working to promote carbon neutrality, helping them understand their current emissions and consider reduction measures. It also has visualization functions for reducing emissions, including calculating the carbon footprint per product and reporting on energy conservation laws. With the supply chain linking function, when you enter the activity volume of one of your business partners, it is automatically linked to Scope 3 and calculated, so it can also be used to manage companies and business groups. With simple operation, an easy-to-understand screen, and a low-cost* and simple fee structure, it reduces the workload and costs involved in understanding CO2 emissions.
