Supporting customers' transition to digitalization, boosting the digitalization of society and contributing to the SDGs

WingArc1st Inc.

Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company Limited (SMFL) and WingArc1st Inc. announce that they will start making charitable donations based on the number of forms delivered electronically through the SMFL Data Service and the electronic form platform invoiceAgent. The donations will target organizations that promote future social and economic growth, and the initiative aims to increase the digitization rate and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 0712.png

invoiceAgent is WingArc's electronic forms platform that enables the digitization, delivery, and return of all business-to-business transaction documents such as invoices, order forms, and delivery slips, and supports centralized management of documents related to transactions and the Electronic Books Preservation Act. As of the end of February 2023, the number of target companies for invoiceAgent Transact exceeded 140,000, and the platform is helping to promote paperless transactions at user companies.

Since June 2021, SMFL has been providing its clients with the SMFL data service, an electronic service built on invoiceAgent for forms used in billing and payment-related operations for lease contracts. The number of new accounts for SMFL data services has been steadily increasing, due in part to the growing digitization needs of business partners. As of June 2023, it reached approximately 11,500 accounts, with a maximum of 8,600 deliveries per month.

Under this initiative, SMFL and WingArc will donate to organizations that contribute to the SDGs in proportion to the number of forms distributed electronically through SMFL data services. Donations will be made to organizations that will contribute to future social and economic growth, such as environmental conservation, poverty, education, and support for children.

SMFL will also consider introducing the Peppol ID registration and electronic invoice service provided by WingArc to further promote digitization in preparation for the implementation of the invoice system in October 2023. WingArc will contribute to the further promotion of digitization by enabling more efficient receipt operations through Peppol.

 (*1) Peppol
A global standard managed by Open Peppol, an international non-profit organization, for document specifications and network operation rules for exchanging electronic documents for ordering and invoicing over a network.
