New Dr.Sum release complies with the Electronic Books Preservation Act
All-in-one support for centralized storage and search requirements for books, documents, and electronic transaction data
WingArc1st Inc.
WingArc1st will begin offering a new release of its data analysis platform Dr.Sum that is specialized for meeting the data storage and retrieval requirements of the Electronic Books Preservation Act in Japan on 5 October 2022. The minimum price is 80,000 yen per month (subscription license, tax not included).
Background
To meet the requirements of the Electronic Books Preservation Act, electronic data related to national tax documents and electronic transactions, including EDI (electronic commerce between companies), must be stored for 7 to 10 years. Electronic data storage will be mandatory from January 2024. When multiple systems exist within a company or group of companies, in addition to the complexity of management and operation issues, there are concerns that existing core systems will increase operating costs and degrade performance. There is a growing need for dedicated data storage systems that address these issues. The discontinuation of ISDN lines in 2024 will make it impossible to use conventional EDI systems for handling electronic transaction data, and there has been active consideration of subsequent systems, including data storage methods. Until the end of 2023, electronic data related to electronic transactions is allowed to be output on paper for storage, but after January 2024 it will be mandatory for all companies to store such data electronically. To address the market's urgent need to support digitization, WingArc has released a new version of Dr.Sum that is compliant with the Electronic Books Preservation Act.
